In 2019, Lamborghini was preparing its most technically ambitious road car to date: the Sián FKP 37 — a tribute to Ferdinand Karl Piëch, and a bold declaration of the brand's electrified future. Before a single customer car could be built, every system had to be proven beyond doubt.

Three development prototypes were created. Prototype 01 was the first — and the most significant. Unlike earlier engineering mules built around borrowed platforms, Prototype 01 was a true Sián from birth: the first car to carry an official Lamborghini VIN, built on the actual Sián monocoque, with full Sián body panels and production-intent systems. It was not a precursor to the car — it was the car, in its rawest working form. It carried the greatest burden: emissions homologation, high-speed validation at Nardò, thermal and mechanical endurance runs across Italy and Germany. It accumulated over 47,000 kilometres, each one in service of the production model.

Its fate, like all Lamborghini development prototypes, was predetermined: destruction. This car was never meant to leave the program alive.
